I'm fine, and feel better than ever since like years, having not dropped programming completely, just the part that wished me to keep staying nearly always here in front of the chair. I just get out more, and passing time in other ways. BTW I've learned skating on in-line skates (Rollerblades). It's fun and has been surprisingly easy, although I knew how to skate since I was in my teens, but had never tried with such skates.

Buona idea, è sempre piaciuto anche a me. Li ho comprati nel 96 e li ho usati abbastanza da consumare le ruote, ma qui non ci sono posti decenti per pattinare, il più vicino sarebbe a Torino.

Also, I'm working on a top-secret, very ambitious, engineering effort (hardware, not software, i.e. a machine) codenamed "Mark 3", which will quite probably not work in the end but which will be an interesting way to get distraction when I need it. It'll need some months and some money. If it worked, it'd be astounding, but yeah, it probably won't. But at least I want to try.

Come un certo noto orologione?

But I'll be back, probably more relaxed than before, and the first thing I'll need updating will be the Run-Time Kernel, which only needs a slightly different way to do a certain thing (allocating and freeing memory from the real-mode memory hole, a portion of low memory that enables applications to set up buffers in a 16:16 addressing space compatible with older BIOS interfaces). For the rest, I already had completed the "Dawn Core", an example core application setting up a command line in text or graphics mode, which runs on top of the kernel and enables using commands to mount/unmount devices, perform some basic test reads, and querying some informations concerning the system and the kernel environment (such as used G.A.T. slots, mounted volumes and their attributes, which file system they have on, etc).

So, this is surely NOT a "quit programming completely and never be back" statement. I still see a lot of exciting future stuff for Linoleum and my Lino-based projects.

Ah meno male.

But I need some air, sun, trees, grass fields and such things, before the winter comes. When it won't be pleasant to stay out, I'll probably be loving more to pass time putting Linoleum together.

Messa così suona molto meno drammatica.

...and the Mark 3, the nature of which cannot be revealed so far (you may either laugh or suggest me a good psychiatrist). A bocca aperta

But no, it's not a time machine (my mum's guess).
And not even a perpetual motion machine.
It's something that could theoretically work.

Voto per uno scatolotto che esegua Linoleum come codice macchina nativo. A bocca aperta
