    Hans Zimmer
Regarding Hans Zimmer, some people think that some of his orchestrations are excessively noisy and tasteless, and I can even agree about this, but it's a matter of taste at the end. The same people who tell us that we can't say that avant-garde music is bad because of our aesthetic preferences tell us that the music of Hans Zimmer is bad because they don't like his style. Isn't this funny?

That said, Hans Zimmer doesn't always write noisy music. Everyone with a decent ear can feel the Mozart's divinity in this theme in the score of the Lion King, for example.

It's a nice example for this discussion, because it's rooted in classical sacred music.

The idea of Chat Noir that the directors buy the film scores of Hans Zimmer only because he delivers on time is ridiculous. No one gets a (well paid) job only because he delivers on time. He gets it because he delivers a product of quality.

What does it mean "quality"? Well, just look at the Oscars of the last 30-40 years and you will see a lot of nominations for Zimmer's scores.
His music is well regarded not only by the general public, but also by other composers (the Oscars nomination are given by composers): this is why the directors pay a lot of money for one of his scores.

Chat Noir and Torkelburger will say that this is totally irrelevant because they don't like his music (and for some strange reasons their personal tastes have more value than that of the many), but according to this logic there are no good composers, since you always find someone who doesn't like the music of a determined composer.
Do you know how many people (especially outside the circle of classical music) say that the music of Mozart is valueless only because they don't like it?

          Immagine postata dall'utente

          Immagine postata dall'utente

o anche, più decrepite, queste case

          Immagine postata dall'utente

          Immagine postata dall'utente

          Immagine postata dall'utente
