    In September 2009, Durban company Unlimited IT reportedly pitted a carrier pigeon against South African ISP Telkom to transfer 4 GB of data 60 miles (97 km) from Howick to Durban. The pigeon, carrying the data on a memory stick, arrived in one hour eight minutes, with the data taking another hour to transfer off of the memory stick. During the same two-hour period, only about 4% of the data had been transferred over the ADSL link.

        per non parlare del fatto che i piccioni viaggiatori l'unica cosa che fanno è tornare dalla loro compagna, quindi devi prima lasciare la femmina dove vuoi che vengano consegnati i dati, portarti il maschio da dove devono essere spediti e poi puoi lasciarlo libero. Se vuoi una risposta devi esserti portato una femmina con te e il tizio dall'altro lato deve avere il maschio con cui fa coppia.

          I piccioni viaggiatori tornano alla colombaia. Peggio ancora, devi prima aver allevato dei picioni nel luogo di destinazione.

            a me spiegarono che tornano dalla femmina, ci sfidiamo a singolar tenzone per determinare chi ha ragione?

              Historically, pigeons carried messages only one way, to their home. They had to be transported manually before another flight. However, by placing their food at one location and their home at another location, pigeons have been trained to fly back and forth up to twice a day reliably, covering round-trip flights up to 160 km (99 mi).
